Parkland Health & Hospital System opened the new Ron J. Anderson Medical & Surgical Clinic on the new Parkland Health & Hospital $1.3 billon campus on January 17, 2017 with interiors innovatively designed to serve patient needs in an evidence-based program by the architect team of 5G Studio Collaborative and FKP Architects.   The design team traversed frontiers in the relatively new field of evidence-based health care design where research, project evaluation, and assessment of data on the patient experience guide and inform the specific approaches, solutions and building plans developed by architects, interior designers and health care facility operators.  The 5G Studio Collaborative, FKP and Parkland Health & Hospital team applied an extraordinarily thorough and exemplary study of information about the specific needs of Dallas County patients for the creation of the new Medical & Surgical Clinic.   The highly anticipated 227,420 square-foot health care facility is named for the late and legendary Ron J. Anderson, MD, president of Parkland Health & Hospital System for 29 years and a national spokesperson for public health issues and champion for the poor and medically underserved.
