Description

Al Busro Mosque was designed to be built on the bank of Rungan River, Palangka Raya. This mosque implemented the vernacular architectural style of Central Kalimantan in both exterior and interior design which characterized with the extensive use of wooden materials and the elevated structures. Al Busro Mosque could be accessed not only via the main road, but also via the Rungan River with boat or canoe. Al Busro Mosque was not built for religious purpose only, but also built as a cultural study center and communal marketplace for the local community in order to sustain the existence of local culture in the surrounding rainforests.
