Description

The project was to design a modern house for Australian expat living in paradise island of Bali, Indonesia. Situated in the chic rural Umalas area, the house sits on a 1200 sqm land plot. The first and most important brief from the client was he wanted an Aussie style modern house. This was quite uncommon to many other expat's tropical villa style in Bali. Main design highlight is the open concept layout throughout the house. 1st storey comprises of living room, dining room, open kitchen and terrace which are all extended towards the huge green lawn & swimming pool. While on 2nd & 3rd storey, the idea is to capture the beautiful sun and sky of Bali from the openings. To give warm feel to relatively cold structures, many colorful art works & decoration including some cool rock & roll poster collection were installed. (let's not forget the komodo head on top of giant wooden peg). Final result is modern house with warm and spacious ambience that the client really enjoyed.
