As a private residence, JJ House took inspirations mainly from the clients persona with their briefs as another guidelines. Ever since the early discussion, the main brief was to create a house that doesn’t look like any others. With a simple configurations of two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and one common area designed as an open space, this 140sqm house was transformed into a quirky but firm looking building with several Arc as its main identity. The facade of the house was featured with two large Arc windows in each corners made with curved galvanized iron handcrafted directly on site. While it serves as one of the aesthetic feature of the house, these windows also serves functionally to provide natural lights and air flow to each bedrooms located behind each windows to ensure healthy aspect of the house is also delivered. Generally, the house is designed with curved wall on every corners with cream stucco renders as the main finishing. Following that, is a combination of natural terrazzo and wood looking materials applied each as the floor and ceiling materials. These set of materials combined with generous amount of natural lights provided by several large arc windows, creates this warm atmosphere that adds an extra comfort and calm feel to the house. Configuration wise, the house is divided into two zones each located in ground floor and first floor of the house. The first floor is designed as private zone that includes one master bedroom, an ensuite with walk in closet, a bedroom and one shared bathroom. As for the ground floor the house has one common area designed as an open space with a large void to create a double volume. This common area includes a living room and an open kitchen with its island serves as dining area. On the back of it, is a large folding doors that connect the room to the backyard of the house.
