Jakarta is a very big city, with more than 9 million people occupied the city during day and night, make the city never sleeps. Jakarta is one of the most populous urban agglomerations. We need a "pause", we need to stay neutral for a while from these hustle and bustle. This house is located in South Jakarta, in a residential area. The owner is a family with two daughters, he works in a Batik Clothing company while his wife is a decoration artist. The idea for this house was came from the fact that they need "sometime" to pause from the city. We tried to accommodate the issue by arranging the layout. Therefore, all the parts of the house has the orientation to the inner garden. This will create an oasis for them to relax. We want to make this house neutral, clean, and simple. The mass is a pure geometric form, a hovering box that stacked together with a pointed roof. To add a character for this house, we tried to implement the Batik pattern into the house. We interpreted Batik Parang as a architectural element in this house.
